Fairy Princess

We call Kaylee our Princess, but pronounce it Prawn-Sis. Cause she is just that. . . High Maintenance with a Flair! I debated whether or not to post this, but couldn't resist! Here she is, all dressed up in her play clothes and since her leotard was in the wash, she just made do without it! This is the same girl that came upstairs tonight telling me she had a cramp in her lip. After asking her what??? twice, I finally said, What does that mean? She said, "It means I need to sleep upstairs with you!" Funny girl! Can't say she isn't creative!

New Stove

Aaah, it's the little things in life. One of my favorite quotes: "The happiest people aren't the ones that have the best of everything, it's the ones that make the best of everything they have!"
Look what we found hiding in our garage! A new stove! (The one on the right!) OK, with the help of a little Comet and steel wool, it was like brand new! It's one I bought for little to nothing at a garage sale a couple years ago, when the ignitor went out on my old stove. I could never figure out how to install it myself and it never got priority in our busy life.
Rod was cleaning the garage out Saturday and decided it was in the way, so he installed it for me. I am thrilled! No more getting down on hands and knees to light the pilot every time a person wants to bake or cook something!
(Note to self - if you want something done, do not complain, or hint, just stick it in the garage where it will hinder husband's progress with building something important like a work bench, and you will have it done in no time flat!)
Oh happy day! I even got a little carried away and shined up my tea kettle! It feels so good to have things clean and neat!
Hey, like so many other moms, I've been cooped up in the house for what seems like weeks with sick kiddos and only Dr's visits for outings, so I'm grabbing joy where I can find it!

Luck Continues!

Well, my son seems to be on a lucky streak! Maybe we should buy him a lottery ticket! Our chiropractor had a contest. There was a jar of jelly beans. If you guessed how many were in it, you won the whole jar. Beau wrote his very own entry. . . and he is now the proud owner of a jar of 1000 jelly beans! Just what we needed at our house!
Anyhow, that was Beau's fun news for last week! He was pretty excited, and the girls were glued to his side cause suddenly he was their favorite person in the world!
I don't have a picture of the jelly beans, or the jar they came in, but here is Beau at breakfast this morning. He really is starting to think he's the luckiest kid there is! It's kind of hard to see, cause of the shading, but he woke up with a perfect mohawk! Can life be any cooler than that for a 5 yr old? And mean ol' mom wouldn't let him wear it like that to school!

The Great Squeeze 2008

Every year when Lee and Dica get back from Yuma, AZ they bring home boxes of lemons. Then, usually the Sunday after they get back, we all stay for lunch and help squeeze them all. As you can see, it's a group effort! And the lemonade is always yummy! Calvin and Rod were the muscle behind the project and Jacque & I were in charge of washing and cutting them all. Lee and Dica emptied the juice into other containers and then bagged it all to freeze. It's quite a project! Next year we will have to count just how many lemons we squeeze!

Kids makin cookies last week. . .

The kids made choc chip cookies for our neighbor Bob to thank him for being such a nice neighbor. Beau and Kaylee did everything by themselves and Hope - she was in charge of licking the beaters, can you tell?
