Serendipity

My husband came home at 6:20am this morning, with an early anniversary present for me:
He found her in his trailer this morning, after unloading a bunch of sheep for slaughter! We think she was born enroute to IA from CO yesterday sometime. She is just the sweetest, little, leggy thing you have ever seen! She still has her imbilical cord, so I know she's still pretty new! Her little bleats were so strong though! Beau woke up, saw her, and said "Now that's weird!" Guess he isn't used to waking up to farm animals peeking over the edge of his bed!Since she was pretty dirty and pretty smelly, we decided it was bath time.
And, after lots of SCRUBBING!!! Made her clean as new!
Beau wanted to name her Sara, and I thought Dippy was cute. So, Rod thought of a compromise, and we named her Serendipity, which we think is just perfect for her! She is the sweetest little thing, and so soft!
Even the girls got close enough to pet and love on her!
Beau told his class about her, so when I went in to help with Literacy Centers this morning, the teacher asked me if I could bring Serendipity to school for show and tell! We did and the kids thought that was pretty neat! That's Beau in the white shirt petting her.

We needed some milk replacement to feed our little lamb, and no one in town that I talked to, had any. My last stop was a vet. He told me his uncle lived down the road a ways and had just finished lambing, so was pretty sure he could find a ewe that would let Serendipity nurse. Boy was I glad to hear that! As much as I absolutely loved her, what were we gonna do with a lamb? It was the perfect solution!

So, we waited till Beau got out of school, to say goodbye to her and then dropped her off with the vet. I will call tomorrow to see where she ended up as we would love to visit her! She was so precious and we got really attached in just the 10 hours we had her! She loved being all twisted up like a pretzel!

And the best part? We get to cherish all our fun memories and pictures, without all the added stress of having a baby (farm) animal in our home! Yay! Mommy sure is happy about that! And I told Rod, it was the best anniversary present he's ever given me! But, that said, I sure will miss her and there were more than a couple tears from the kids when we dropped her off. What a special day it turned out to be!

I had to blog this latest of my nephew Isaiah.
Is he not the cutest little guy you've ever seen?

More Presents!

Aunt Vicki, Evan & Emily all came to visit and bring
Hope some birthday presents! Candy, babies, backpacks
and sunglasses were involved. That finally got the birthday girl smiling!
Beau lost his 2nd tooth Friday when he was with his buddy Micah. Here is a picture Andrea took for me. It's pretty graphic, but we had no trouble seeing where the tooth had been! The one next to it that he lost back in Feb has already grown almost completely in!

Look what my boy made me! Isn't that sweet? I just love having a little splash of color to brighten my home on these rainy days we are having! I had to make sure they were real, the flowers are so pretty!

Happy 2nd Birthday Hope!

The birthday girl right after she woke up. Look at all the fun balls she got for her birthday! Love that cash register! Even big brother is excited about this one! Kaylee helping her "sprinkle" her birthday brownies. I think her egg-toast with a candle was the highlite of her day! Then it was back to being cozy.
Our little birthday girl woke up, with a fever! No fun on your birthday! But she did manage to perk up a little at times. When she wasn't cozied up on the couch or rocking chair, she opened presents, decorated her brownies and even ate some yummy, fresh oranges that Daddy had brought from CA that morning!

I can't believe my baby is 2 yrs old!
