Look what I found in my yard at 6:30 this morning!!
Rod, Eric and Tyler went duck hunting on the section of land kitty-corner to where we live. With all the rain we have had this last week, they had quite a trek down the muddy road with all their duck decoys and equipment. They had to call me for a ride home. The dog is Eric's dog, Buford- he's in charge of fetching what they shoot, and providing entertainment!
And below is a picture of what I found in my dining room at 6:30 this morning!

Happy Feet

I took this picture a month ago, when my girls had the time of their life in a mud hole. Have you ever walked barefoot through mud? It's the best feeling ever! These are happy little feet!

Sunset

Here are some pictures of the sunset tonight - taken from our southwest porch.
Today was a gorgeous day!

Here was the sky this morning as the sun came up! I was doing dishes at my sink and wondering what others had to share at bible study last night, and I happened to glance out the east window and I was forced to run outside with my camera and take pics and then share them with you! How can you not believe in God, when you see the beauty He has created?
That is our water tower you see. I just wish I had more training in how to use my camera, there are so many shots that just don't turn out due to user error!! Any tips for online camera classes (free is best!) please pass them on to me! I desperately need em!
If you look closely at the break in the clouds, there was a whole layer of completely different clouds behind this big dark one. And the sunrise is all over in a matter of minutes. Such a wonderful way to start the day!

This is Darth Vader - aka. Evan Schmer the 7 yr old birthday boy!
This is his Star Wars Lego cake his mom made. This is what happens when you eat that frosting on that cake! Ooh, that one of Kaylee was a little too graphic - Sorry! Some kids stayed cleaner - like Camden (Evan's cousin) who I'm pretty sure didn't eat any cake!! Here is the Darth Vader pinata they had. Instead of hitting this kind, each kid pulls one ribbon, until the bottom falls out and candy and treats rain down. A little easier to have in the house than a swinging bat!! Then they had to use their light sabers (light up swords) to see who could keep a balloon in the air the longest. Here is Kaylee with one of Evan's dogs named Maggie. Just thought it was cute, so included it!

And I had to post this pic of Garrison (also Evan's cousin). Isn't he a cutie!?

The party was a smashing hit and the kids all had a lot of fun! It was good to be back in the big O for the day! Happy Birthday Evan!!

Cornhusking Competition

Finding the treasure in the corn . . .
or swimming in the corn!
Beau doing the bubblegum challenge - unwrapping gum with gloves on, doesn't look easy!
Hope & Tonya doing the corn toss.
Go Beau Go!
The kids got to go to the annual hand-cornhusking competition here in town and boy did they have fun! Here are the pictures that Renee G. took and was sweet enough to share with me! I got to go to this competition for a couple minutes and watch one man who pulled, shucked and threw 510lbs of corn, by hand, in 20 minutes! It was so neat to watch! Makes a person appreciate these huge combines we have now-a-days that harvest 12 rows at a time instead of 1 cob at a time!
If I can round up some pics of the competition, I will post them. . . the pictures of the kids are just of the kids' games they had after the competition got done. Hope your Thursday was great! The weather here was beautiful!!

This is the view that greeted me out my kitchen window his morning! I couldn't capture the absolute, pure beauty of the sunrise, it was so breathtaking. But thought I'd share what I did capture! Happy Tuesday to ya!
